Route
- Begin at the Edge of the Woods Trail entrance outside the Rock Creek Nature Center front door.
- Follow the paved 0.25-mile loop next to the Nature Center, staying with the guide-rope route where it passes trees and short drop-offs.
- Complete the loop back at the Nature Center trail entrance; the building itself is currently closed for remediation.
Good to know
Several tree-root pavement heaves and short drop-offs exceed one inch, and the guide rope encounters trees and parallels some drop-offs. NPS does not publish grade, cross-slope, width, junction, or crossing measurements. The Nature Center building is closed until further notice for remediation, so do not count on indoor restrooms, water, exhibits, maps, or staff; check current trail access, parking, and alerts before leaving.
