Beginning Steelpan Class

First-time players learn the basic vocabulary and physical skills of steelpan. Guided exercises cover holding and controlling the sticks, hand coordination, striking technique, the instrument’s note layout, rhythmic phrases, scales, melody, and harmony.

The class emphasizes confidence and skill development rather than performance. It is intended for ages 10 and older. Tuition is paid monthly for four classes, and new students may begin on the first Saturday of a month.
