Research social scientist David Yetman presents an outdoor talk about the Indigenous peoples of the Sonoran Desert. His work examines Sonora’s Native communities, history, geography, plants and the ways local resources have been incorporated into daily life.

Yetman hosted the PBS documentary series The Desert Speaks for nine years and produces and hosts In the Americas with David Yetman. His documentary work has received two Emmy Awards, and his public service included more than a decade as a Pima County supervisor and work connected with the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan.

The lecture takes place outside in the Territorial Patio. Advance tickets cost $10 for members or $13 for nonmembers; admission at the door is $15. The Brandylion will have cocktails and spirits available for purchase.
