Toddler Takeover

Toddler Takeover transforms the museum into a slower-paced play environment designed for its youngest learners. Daily themes support early development through movement, sensory play, and creative exploration, giving toddlers room to climb, crawl, splash, wiggle, and make things at their own pace.

Community partners may join the program with storytimes, sensory experiences, and early-childhood resources for caregivers. More information about the season-long activities appears on the museum’s Toddler Takeover program page.

Planning the visit

This is a multi-week museum program rather than one timed session. During summer hours the museum operates daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; from Labor Day through Memorial Day it operates Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closes Mondays. The adjacent William F. Poe Garage is the most convenient parking option, and the museum provides stroller parking, an infant-feeding room, refill stations, and a vending machine with diapers, wipes, clothing, and fidgets.
