Explore the history, sound and design of the guitar through interactive learning stations, staff-led activities and close-up looks at special instruments. Designed for children and adults, this hands-on museum program connects music with American history inside the fourth-floor Wayne Thomas Gallery.
The program complements America at the Crossroads: The GUITAR and a Changing Nation, an exhibition featuring 40 instruments alongside videos, photographs and illustrations. The displays trace the guitar’s cultural impact from early Spanish contact through modern American music, politics, marketing and generational change. The exhibition remains open through August 23.
