Families and individuals with sensory needs can explore the Zoo during a lower-capacity morning designed to provide a calmer experience. Regular Zoo offerings remain available, while reduced crowds and additional supports make it easier for guests to participate at their own pace.
Sensory resources include a limited supply of sensory bags, a calming cart, quiet zones throughout the grounds, and Zoo staff trained to assist visitors with sensory needs. Free reservations are required.
Accessibility resources
- All major facilities and most restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
- Family restrooms are available in The Living World, at the South Entrance, in the First Aid Station, and across from River Camp Cafe. An adult-sized changing table is available in First Aid.
- Equal Access Passes for guests who need attraction accommodations are available at Guest Relations, Rentals, and both entrance Welcome Desks.
- Assisted-listening devices are available at the Sea Lion Arena, 4D Theater, and VR experience. Audio description for select areas may be requested in advance.
- Guests bringing service animals should check in at either entrance Welcome Desk. Designated accessible parking is available in the North and South lots and along Government Drive on a first-come basis.
