History Park becomes a 1940s home-front setting for an afternoon of living history followed by an evening big-band dance. The family-focused portion runs from 2–6 p.m. with a WWII tent city, vintage vehicles, costumed interpreters, open historic buildings, trolley rides, live swing music, a fashion show, food trucks, a victory parade and historical reenactments.
Children can try codebreaking and an agility course, learn junior-nurse skills, explore food canning and the Women’s Land Army, and meet veterans and Rosies. The evening program runs from 7–10 p.m. with beginner swing-dance instruction and music from the 19-piece Swing Solution orchestra.
Period clothing is encouraged but not required. Tickets are also expected to be sold at the door by cash or card; online prices include service fees.
