The Poetry Festival closes with an outdoor spoken-word performance under the oak tree in front of Markham House. Featured poets include San José slam coordinator and youth-workshop teacher Scorpiana Xlent, spoken-word and hip-hop artist Joseph Jason Santiago LaCour, and Los Angeles Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace.
The program follows the Small Press Fair and open mic and is suited to older children who enjoy energetic spoken-word performance.
