Bernal Heights Recreation Center pairs a renewed neighborhood playground with a fenced sandbox, blacktop, picnic area, restrooms, gymnasium, community rooms, and changing recreation programs.
The playground reopened in November 2025 after equipment replacement, fully accessible fall-attenuation surfacing, grading and drainage work, and surrounding-asphalt updates. Those playground improvements do not establish access to every recreation-center room, picnic area, blacktop edge, street approach, or nearby hillside.
