Children can move along with a read-aloud of I Am You: A Book About Ubuntu by Refiloe Moahloli, then paint a kindness rock to take the story’s ideas into an art project. Teaching artist Marcela Hernandez, a Chicane poet, writer, and activist, leads the program.
The session takes place on the museum grounds, and families are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket. Registration is required.
Children ages 0–12 attend free. Adult admission is $15 for nonmembers and free for museum members or adults using WIC, SNAP, or MAP benefits through Museums for All; teen admission is $10.
