Education intern Deja Coleman leads this monthly gallery drawing group, which studies a different artwork on the first Wednesday of each month. August’s subject is the Jeanne and Irving Mathews Collection of Art Glass.
The hour begins with a short discussion about the selected work, continues with one or two brief drawing exercises, and finishes with a longer observational drawing. Pencils, paper, sharpeners, erasers, and clipboards are supplied. Families may bring their own materials, but only graphite may be used inside the galleries.
The museum describes the program as included with admission or membership. Its registration page lists members as free and nonmember adult and teen tickets at $10.
