This is one day of the five-day Inside the Exhibit camp week for young artists ages 7–9. Campers explore museum exhibitions, experiment with art techniques, and develop original work in a supportive studio environment. The week concludes with a Young Artist Showcase for family and friends.
Daily program
- 9 a.m.–noon — Museum in a Box: Shawna Schmidt guides campers in acting as artists and curators as they choose a theme, create and select artwork, and arrange a miniature museum. Projects explore materials, scale, space, and how museums organize ideas.
- Noon–1 p.m.: Full-day campers eat a packed lunch; morning-only campers are dismissed.
- 1–4 p.m. — Just a Spoonful of Creativity: Dezarre Carranza leads drawing, kite design, and puppet-performance projects inspired by patterns, Mary Poppins, and the exhibition Tony Walton: Designer of Dreams.
What to bring
All campers need a reusable water bottle and one or two snacks. Full-day campers also need lunch, two snacks, and a hat for outdoor time. Do not bring electronic devices, foods containing nuts, or valuable personal items. Drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m.
The week is sold out and the ticket page is no longer accepting sales. Fees were $165–$175 for a half-day week or $375–$385 for a full-day week; each registration included a $75 nonrefundable processing fee.
