Bring young art appreciators for a short morning program combining storytime, gallery exploration, and hands-on art. Families meet in the museum lobby and follow an arts educator into the galleries to look closely at selected artworks and share a story.
The visit concludes with a simple, child-friendly art project inspired by the book and art on view. Stories and activities change each month. Both the program and museum admission are free on the first Wednesday.
Museum logistics
- The building and galleries are wheelchair- and stroller-accessible. Sensory bags, a loaner wheelchair, and social stories for preparing for a visit are available.
- Changing stations are located in several restrooms, and the family-oriented Base Camp area provides seating and interactive activities.
- Free visitor stalls are east of the museum; register the vehicle’s license plate at the welcome desk. The University South Campus TRAX stop is about five minutes away on foot.
