Spend Saturday exploring insects through expert talks, close-up specimen displays, hands-on art-and-science activities, and family entertainment. Festival attractions include displays of Utah insects and the plants they pollinate, face painting, crafts, and the Bug Bar's unusual edible treats.
Optional Saturday workshops
Workshop tickets include museum and festival admission, and museum members receive 20% off workshop registration.
- 10:30 a.m. — Print Lab: Layer insect-inspired stamps while learning screen-printing techniques and make a printed tote bag. Register for Print Lab.
- 12:30 p.m. — Anyone Can Paint a Bug: Paint a stylized swallowtail butterfly while learning about its biology. Register for the watercolor workshop.
- 2:30 p.m. — Introduction to Butterfly Pinning: Learn about butterflies and pin a specimen to take home. Register for butterfly pinning.
Planning your visit
The general festival is included with museum admission. Parking is beside the building, with an uphill path, stairs, and stroller- and wheelchair-accessible ramps; a passenger turnaround provides a shorter drop-off route.
