What campers will make

Robin Gunning leads this older-youth ceramics week through hand-building fundamentals, proper tool use, and underglaze color. During the final two days, students learn wheel-throwing basics and receive substantial practice time. Verge fires every ceramic piece and emails families when the work is ready for pickup.

Daily logistics

Camp runs Monday through Friday. Families may drop campers off after 9:30 a.m. and pick them up between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.; staff remain present throughout both windows. Snacks and water are provided. Campers need a cold lunch and water bottle, with an hour-long lunch break from noon–1 p.m. in the outdoor space. Games and toys are available during lunch. Phones and electronic devices may be brought but must stay in bags; parents can call Verge when they need to contact a camper.

Registration and policies

Automatic sibling discounts are offered, and qualifying Sacramento-area students may ask the education staff about full or partial scholarships. The overview calls the clay sessions sold out, while the live registration page currently indicates limited space; check registration for the latest availability. Organizer-cancelled camps qualify for a transfer or full refund. A participant withdrawal at least seven days in advance receives a refund less a $25 processing fee; stricter limits apply after that, with no refunds or transfers during the final 24 hours.
