Inclusive Playdate

This monthly Access Leisure playdate brings children of all abilities together at Southside Park’s Universal Universe playground. Families can explore the wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round, musical playground features and other equipment while children join organized activities, make friends and connect with local resources.

The gathering takes place at the playground on the west side of the lake along 6th Street. Parents, guardians or care providers must remain on-site, although City recreation staff will be available to facilitate activities and assist children. Light snacks and refreshments are provided, and caregivers can meet other families while children play.

Check in at the Access Leisure pop-up tent upon arrival. Advance registration is available, and the City also permits on-site registration; each playdate date requires its own registration. Families requesting a program modification can complete the welcome form during registration, with approximately 10 days recommended for case-by-case review.
