Take a vintage train on a roughly 45-minute, six-mile round trip from the Old Sacramento Waterfront along the Sacramento River. Families can experience historic rail travel while learning about railroad history in California and the American West. Departures are scheduled for 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

Coach and first-class tickets are offered. First-class service lasts about 50 minutes and includes air-conditioned seating, a snack, and a nonalcoholic drink. Historic coaches have narrow stairs and aisles, so passengers must be able to climb aboard, and wheelchairs, mobility devices, and strollers must be stored temporarily at the station. Only bottled water and supplied first-class refreshments are permitted aboard.
