Artist Shonna McDaniels guides participants through making a bird-themed Ohio Star quilt block. This enduring pattern introduces quarter-square triangles, works well with fabric scraps, and creates lively angles and movement; attendees will use those ideas to craft a distinctive block of their own.
The free workshop is part of the City’s Birds and Benches public-art initiative, whose community activities explore Natomas bird life and help inspire future artist-designed park benches.
