Access Leisure reserves Cabrillo Pool for children with disabilities and differing sensory needs to enjoy a less crowded swimming environment with their families. The first hour is designed as quiet swim time; the second adds music, the splash pad, slides and other livelier water play. Lifeguards and Access Leisure staff are present to support participants.

A parent or guardian must accompany the child while swimming. Families are asked to keep their group small so participants can enjoy the pool comfortably with peers. The program also allows time for social swimming, games, crafts and conversation; children may bring lunch or snacks for after their swim.

What to bring

The activity is registered as a six-session program.
