Children can explore an interactive touch station featuring natural and handmade materials used by cultures around the world. Activities invite visitors to handle, examine, and compare international textiles, spices, fibers, and other sensory materials. Families can continue into We The People: The World in Our Commonwealth to learn about people and communities that have made Virginia home.

This July session follows the “Materials from Around the World” theme. It is a drop-in activity, so families may arrive at any point during the one-hour program.

The activity has no separate fee, but each visitor needs a museum-admission ticket.
