The Lua Project: Los Appalachianos

The Lua Project combines a live performance with conversation about the making of Los Appalachianos. The musicians will discuss the album’s themes, influences, and creative process, then take questions from the audience. Guests may also visit We The People: The World in Our Commonwealth before the program.

The group draws from Mexican and Appalachian traditions, Eastern European tonalities, baroque melodies, and narrative songwriting. Its music explores family, community, labor, and loss while connecting traditions from different places and eras.
