Nutcracker in July

Richmond Ballet’s free open house combines Nutcracker-themed activities with a behind-the-scenes look at the company and its school. Families can meet and photograph Nutcracker characters, examine costumes up close, tour the building, and observe School of Richmond Ballet classes. Children’s books and Italian ice will be available for purchase, and visitors can buy Nutcracker tickets at the box office before the general public sale begins.

Dance classes

No previous dance experience is needed. Free 30-minute sessions include:

• 10:15 a.m.: Nutcracker classes for ages 4–6 and 7–11
• 11 a.m.: Nutcracker class for ages 4–6 and theater class for ages 7–11
• 11:45 a.m.: Nutcracker classes for ages 4–6 and 7–11
• 12:30 p.m.: Nutcracker class for ages 4–6

Registration is not required. Free parking is available in Richmond Ballet’s adjacent lot during the event, and weekend street parking is also free. A photographer will be present, and event photographs may include attendees.
