The Fan
The museum stays open for a summer evening of hands-on science, films and animal encounters. Families can explore regular favorites such as Speed, Boost, The Forge and the museum’s labs during the extended hours.
Evening highlights
- Visit the optional Survival of the Slowest touring exhibition to see a sloth, tenrec, snakes and other animals, with a keeper talk at 6 p.m.
- See Secrets of the Sea in The Dome at 5:30 p.m. or Horse Power at 6:30 p.m.; Dome presentations require an admission upgrade.
- Concessions offer adult beverages to guests 21 and older alongside family-friendly refreshments.
Purchase general admission for the chosen Friday. Online admission receives a $1-per-ticket discount; Dome and touring-exhibition upgrades are $5 each. Parking is free in the deck beside the museum. The Pulse stops on Broad Street in front of the building, and GRTC routes 50, 76 and 77 stop on DMV Drive.
