The final week of the summer program offers professionally taught, grade-banded workshops for rising grades 1–12. Children and teens can register for a morning class, an afternoon class, or both, with projects ranging from sculpture and printmaking to visual storytelling and sustainable design.
Session 8 classes
- Grades 1–3: Let’s Make a Mess builds three-dimensional art from foam, cardboard, found and recycled materials, and modeling compound; Epic Printmaking introduces several beginner-friendly printing methods and repetitive design.
- Grades 3–5: Budding Artists interprets flowers and plants through color theory, tempera, watercolor, and collage; Mind’s Eye looks at eye imagery in Surrealism and portraiture before students create work with paint and papier-mâché.
- Grades 6–8: Pack Yourself Posters uses a symbolic “personality suitcase” to explore identity through drawing, collage, objects, and words; Trash to Trinkets turns soda tabs, plastic bags, and household discards into chainmail-style jewelry, woven cord, pigments, and functional art.
- Grades 9–12: Reuse Rebels teaches mending, dyeing, stitching, painting, and garment modification; Fashion Recycling + Redesigning applies sustainable painting and sewing techniques to older clothing, which students are encouraged to bring.
