This weeklong program gives rising first- through twelfth-graders a choice of morning and afternoon studio classes taught by professional artists. Students experiment with traditional, digital, and sculptural media while spending time in a working visual-arts center.
Session 6 classes
- Grades 1–3: Nature Up Close turns wildlife patterns and natural details into mixed-media projects; Exploring Famous Masters introduces art history and modern painting techniques, with students able to select a piece for the Summer Celebration exhibition.
- Grades 3–5: Artsy Appetite studies food imagery through drawing, painting, collage, color, and mixed media; Superior Sculptures works with materials such as plaster, wood, clay, papier-mâché, and modeling compound.
- Grades 6–8: Clayworks covers tiles, pinch pots, mugs, lidded vessels, trinket dishes, and wall pieces; The Art of Digital Media explores branding and design through logos, mockups, buttons, and posters.
- Grades 9–12: Experimental Animation creates frame-by-frame work with light, shadow, found objects, and the body rather than conventional animation tools; Portrait Painting studies facial proportions, planes, measurement, light, color, and work from a live model.
