Research Curator of Ornithology John Gerwin explores the remarkable flight abilities and global variety of swallows. The illustrated talk focuses on the six swallow species that breed in North Carolina, where families might spot them, ways to attract them and how to discourage nesting in inconvenient places.

The program also connects swallow biology with migration, cultural stories and the famous question about the airspeed of an unladen swallow. It is a walk-up presentation in the SECU Daily Planet Theater.
