WaterFire presents a basin lighting at Waterplace Park, with the braziers scheduled to ignite at sunset around 8:17 p.m. Onshore programming and vendors begin earlier in the evening, giving families time to explore before the lighting.

The installation combines firelight, music, boats, and the downtown riverfront. WaterFire’s interactive event map identifies viewing areas, restrooms, transportation points, and accessibility locations around the walkable site.

Planning with children

Most riverwalk routes are accessible, but crowds, darkness, cobblestones, open flames, and narrow passages can make strollers and mobility devices difficult to maneuver. WaterFire recommends arriving early for a viewing position and offers more detail in its onshore accessibility guide. Folding chairs may not be placed on the riverwalks, and families should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
