Spend a summer evening looking for bats and listening to their calls with an electronic detector. Educators will explain why these flying mammals matter and guide a slow search around Whitaker Ponds. Bring a flashlight or headlamp; loaner binoculars may be requested.
The route is about 1 mile on flat, wide gravel paths with two gently pitched wooden ramps. An ADA-accessible portable toilet is available, and TriMet route 75 serves the site. The program is currently full.
