This relaxed trip to Powell Butte’s summit is designed especially for wheelchair and power-chair users, neurodivergent participants and their loved ones, while remaining open to everyone. Leaders will share nature facts, listen for birdsong and offer bird-themed fidgets, a wildlife scavenger hunt, sensory kits, loaner binoculars and an optional bring-your-own picnic.
Access and preparation
- Paved route under 2 miles with frequent rests and benches
- Steady grades no greater than 5%, with little shade
- Accessible parking, paved drop-off access, ADA restrooms and a water fountain
- TriMet routes 9 and 74 stop roughly half a mile away
Bring water, sun and insect protection, preferred accessibility supports and binoculars if available. More detailed access information is sent after registration.
