Turn bird calls into art during a family-friendly introduction to spectrograms—the visual shapes made by sound frequencies. Participants will handle tactile examples based on common Whitaker Ponds birds, take a slow birding meander and use templates and puffy paint to create a spectrogram of a favorite backyard bird. Materials are provided.
The flat gravel paths are generally 4–6 feet wide, with minimal elevation change. The outing covers up to 2 miles at a slow pace. The pavilion has a ramp, and an ADA-accessible portable toilet is available. No birding background is needed.
