North Oakland
Carnegie Museums’ Oakland program offers weeklong art, architecture, and natural-history camps with themes spanning dinosaurs, geology, animals, STEAM, games, sculpture, and outdoor exploration. This is a general calendar block rather than a specific camp listing; families should consult the organizer’s camp finder to identify that week’s choices, availability, exact hours, and price.
Before camp
- Oakland options serve ages 4–13, with half-day programs for ages 4–5 and full-day choices for older campers.
- Campers must meet the listed age when their selected camp begins. A required permission form is due two weeks beforehand.
- Full-day campers should bring lunch and a labeled water bottle. Sturdy closed-toe shoes and an extra layer are recommended.
- Authorized pickup adults must show photo identification. The parking entrance is at Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street, with a one-hour grace period for drop-off and pickup.
Most full-day camps sign in from 8:45–9:15 a.m. and dismiss at 3 p.m.; half-day and special-program schedules differ. Weekly pre- and post-camp care is available for enrolled Oakland campers ages 6–13. Accommodation requests should be made at least two weeks in advance.
