Learn to locate prominent objects in Pittsburgh’s night sky with guidance from the Science Center’s astronomy team. The program includes a Stars Over Pittsburgh planetarium presentation and hands-on construction of star and sun-dial clocks.
Weather permitting, families will finish on the observatory deck using professional telescopes. Planned targets include the Moon, the Summer Triangle—Vega, Deneb, and Altair—and Maui’s Hook in Scorpius. SkyWatch proceeds rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe; observatory viewing depends on the weather.
Advance online tickets are required, and walk-up tickets are not offered.
