Dr. Ann Marshall, the museum’s director of research, leads a 30-minute talk tracing the Heard Museum from its 1929 founding to the present as it approaches its centennial. The gallery explores how Maie Bartlett Heard and Dwight Bancroft Heard’s travels and Indigenous art collection led to the museum’s creation beside their home.

The presentation also considers sculptures by Allan Houser, Bob Haozous and Doug Hyde within the story of the institution’s development. Participants meet at the information desk.
