Create Playdate

Young artists can visit a mobile art cart in the museum galleries for a hands-on maker experience inspired by artwork on view. Each weekly session introduces an artwork, an activity to complete at the museum, and ideas children can continue at home.

July's project draws from Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller's interactive sound installation The Instrument of Troubled Dreams. After experiencing the Mellotron-based work, children can construct a sound-making instrument of their own. This is a drop-in program; no separate activity registration is required.
