Ivette Chaires presents papier-mâché sculpture informed by Mexican folk-art traditions and her surroundings in Puebla, Mexico. The multidisciplinary artist works across sculpture, printmaking, and photography and has spent 15 years practicing and teaching cartonería—building figures from layered paper and glue, then painting and embellishing them.

The exhibition blends contemporary imagery with traditional techniques, calaveras, patterns, cultural storytelling, and themes connected to Día de Muertos. It remains on view through November 8. The July 31 opening reception is pay what you wish; visits on other dates require museum admission.
