Families and visitors with sensory-processing needs can explore the museum in a calmer, more supportive setting. Programming is modified, staff receive specialized accessibility training, and designated emotionally safe spaces provide sensory objects, comfortable seating, and cool blue lighting.

The experience is designed for people of all abilities and their families. The museum developed its inclusive practices with Art-Reach, a Philadelphia nonprofit that has advised on environmental adjustments, staff preparation, and programming. Families who receive public food or medical assistance can also use Art-Reach’s ACCESS program for $2 museum admission outside the event’s complimentary hour.

A separate autism-friendly performance, A Bubble, Comedy and Music Show: Reading Rocks! With Mr. Turtle, is scheduled at 1 p.m. the same day.
