Nature at Noon: The Art of Nature

Families can practice close observation by drawing insects and birds from the Academy’s collections. Participants may bring their own art supplies or use provided tempera paint sticks, colored pencils, markers, watercolor paper and collage materials to recreate native pinned insects and preserved birds.

Meet at the 19th Street entrance security desk. The activity welcomes artists of any experience level. The program space has elevator access, bathrooms and water fountains; street parking is available around Logan Circle and Race Street, and nearby transit includes bus routes 32, 33, 38 and 49 plus Suburban Station. Advance registration is required.
