Firstival Celebration: First Scientific Society of Natural History

Celebrate the Academy’s history as the country’s first scientific society devoted to natural history. The family program highlights more than two centuries of collections, scientific exploration, dinosaurs, dioramas and discoveries.

Special Firstival activities run from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., and visitors can see a giant number-one sculpture created for the Academy by artist Ibi Padron Venegas with Mural Arts Philadelphia. Pay-what-you-wish museum admission is available throughout the day as part of Philadelphia’s citywide 52 Weeks of Firsts series.
