Curator Julia Mun presents an afternoon talk connected with Isamu Noguchi: Metal the Mirror. The program offers older children and adults an opportunity to learn more about the exhibition and its artistic context directly from its curator.
The exhibition brings together nine galvanized-steel sculptures from 1982–83. Noguchi created the larger series by dipping steel into boiling zinc, producing reflective surfaces that continue to develop patinas over time. The works explore duality and draw upon the artist’s experience navigating life as a Japanese American.
