Florida Prize artist Charo Oquet introduces the Haitian and Dominican Rara/Gagá carnival tradition through documentary film, storytelling, and hands-on artmaking. The program explores a cultural practice shaped by African, Taíno, and Creole heritage.

Participants can create a Rara-inspired hat, flag, or collar from colorful fabric, sequins, and found materials, then join a procession through the museum. Families are welcome, and guests are encouraged to wear bright colors.
