An advanced ensemble of performers ages 14–18 caps a three-week musical-theater intensive with Hadestown. The sung-through folk opera follows two intertwined love stories: young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and the immortal Hades and Persephone. Their journey travels to the underworld and back while exploring industry and nature, doubt and faith, and fear and love.
The production draws on classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz. These performances take place at Rose Studios for Youth Artists in Bel Air Plaza, rather than at the downtown Rose Theater.
