Community members can bring photographs, letters, documents, and other treasured pieces from their personal or family archives to be digitized by archivists from the Great Plains Black History Museum and Criss Library's Archives and Special Collections.

Participants receive digital copies of the items scanned during the workshop and donate a digital copy to the museum. The number of pieces processed may be limited according to registration volume. Archivists will also offer practical advice about safely storing and preserving family records.

A small pop-up display of archival material accompanies the workshop. Advance registration is requested. The program is part of a joint museum-and-library initiative supported by the National Archives' National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
