“Buckaroo Bart” Taylor of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum will read his book Will Rogers and His Great Inspiration. The special OkieTales session also includes a roping demonstration and lesson, connecting the story to Oklahoma and Western history through an active experience.

OkieTales is intended for preschool and elementary-age children and their families. Families may drop in without registering. The program itself is free with paid museum admission, while Oklahoma Historical Society members enter free.

Parent notes

  • Free and wheelchair-accessible parking is available at the museum.
  • Families can use a private first-floor nursing pod, changing tables in all museum restrooms and an adult changing station in the first-floor family restroom.
  • Complimentary wheelchairs are available from the Admissions Desk. Visitors younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult; the museum's visitor guide includes additional accessibility resources and a social story.
