Oklahoma History Center staff will share an Oklahoma history-themed book, followed by a hands-on or active learning experience. This session explores the Dust Bowl and daily life during the Great Depression; some OkieTales programs also incorporate living-history elements.

The program is designed for preschool and elementary-age children and their families. It is come-and-go, and advance registration is not required. Participation is free after paid museum admission; Oklahoma Historical Society members receive free admission.

Parent notes

  • The museum offers free parking, accessible parking and complimentary wheelchairs.
  • A private nursing pod is available on the first floor. Changing tables are provided in every museum restroom, with an adult changing station in the first-floor family restroom.
  • Visitors younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Additional accessibility information and a social story are available through the museum's visitor guide.
