Directions

Route

  1. Start at the Putnam Trail access near Van Cortlandt Lake and the park's southern Broadway entrance.
  2. Follow the named former-rail corridor north through Van Cortlandt Park.
  3. Continue on the main Putnam Trail for approximately 1.5 miles toward the city line without taking side trails.
  4. Turn around at the end of the park segment and retrace the same corridor to the lake-area start.

Good to know

This doubles the approximately 1.5-mile park segment for the return. Agency materials describe paved and stone-dust treatments, but current surface transitions, crossings, construction, drainage, and exact grades require checking before relying on rolling conditions.
