Chef Dianne “Gumbo Marie” Honoré connects New Orleans history and culture with a live demonstration of Creole gumbo. Attendees can watch the preparation and taste a sample at the end.

Honoré grew up in her family's Tremé Creole restaurant and works as a historic interpreter, Creole-culture advocate, teaching artist, and event producer. She founded the Black Storyville Baby Dolls, Amazons Benevolent Society, and Unheard Voices of Louisiana; masks as Big Queen of the Yellow Pocahontas Hunters Tribe; and has developed food tours, history tours, exhibits, television programs, and beading classes centered on Louisiana culture.
