Summer Splash presented by ICEE®

Festival Field offers a slip-and-slide, animal sprinklers, bubbles, and splash pools for younger children. This Saturday adds watermelon-eating contests at 11 a.m. and noon, plus watermelon enrichment for Zoo animals. The contests are recommended for ages 6–12, are limited to 25 children per session, and require sign-up at the Festival Field tent 30 minutes beforehand. Winners receive a themed award.

Planned enrichment includes the cassowary at 9 a.m., clouded leopard cubs at the veterinary center at 10 a.m., and the rhinoceros hornbill at 11 a.m.

Practical details

All activities are included with Zoo admission or membership. Children under 18 need adult supervision, and no lifeguard is on duty. Clothing and shoes are required throughout the Zoo; water shoes are recommended because the field may become muddy.
