Curatorial fellow Caroline Yates revisits surrealism through women artists whose work has often been overshadowed by the movement’s better-known men. The talk highlights figures including Leonora Carrington, Dorothea Tanning, Leonor Fini, and Claude Cahun.
Using works in International Surrealism from Tate, Yates examines how these artists explored identity, transformation, mythology, dreams, and the self while challenging conventional ideas about gender and creativity.
