Museum historian Dr. Paul George narrates an evening boat tour through the history of Biscayne Bay and Stiltsville. Families will hear how the colorful houses on the bay’s flats became a mid-century playground associated with Crawfish Eddies and the Bikini Club, and how the community dwindled to the seven structures preserved today. The route also passes the Cape Florida Lighthouse, Key Biscayne, and views of Miami.

Water and soda are included; Island Queen Cruises sells additional light snacks and drinks. Each ticket also includes a complimentary family pass to the museum.

Before boarding

  • Check in at Bayside Marketplace between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. The vessel may depart any time after 6 p.m. and cannot return for late guests.
  • Enter Bayside through the main entrance, continue past the flags, and walk toward the marina to find the Island Queen dock.
  • Bring water and sun protection.
  • Garage parking is available between NE 4th and NE 5th streets, with metered and neighborhood parking nearby. The College/Bayside Metromover stop serves the marketplace.

Vessel and accessibility

The Miami Lady has an enclosed, air-conditioned lower deck with seating and speakers for the narration. Its covered, open-sided upper deck is reached only by stairs; plastic side curtains can be lowered during rain. Disability accommodations, accessible-format materials, or sign-language interpretation may be requested from the museum at least two weeks in advance.
