Just for Me: Hurricanes 101

Families with diverse sensory and accessibility needs can explore the museum during a quieter session with adjusted exhibition lighting and sound. Visitors may engage at their own pace, and child- and adult-size sensory backpacks with noise-reducing earmuffs and sensory toys are available from the front kiosk while supplies last.

The Hurricanes 101 activation examines a storm from above. Families will create a small, safe model hurricane and learn practical ideas for preparing for natural disasters.

No event registration is required, although regular museum admission normally applies. The museum offers a limited allocation of complimentary admission through its Just for Me ticket-request form and provides a social narrative for families who want to preview the visit.
